Mega Graphite Management Team

The MEGA Graphite team collectively brings together more than 100 years of experienced mining, marketing and management personnel to the organization. The team is extremely well versed in production, plant design and operations and has extensive industry contacts and experience necessary to compete in the natural graphite sector. The combination of these skills along with the team's strategic planning and business development skills will represent a key element in creating a sustainable competitive advantage for the Company. The following is a brief summary on the background of each team member.



Michael G. Hastings
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hastings brings 35 years of financial expertise, including the last 13 years as an executive in the industrial battery market. He recently retired as Vice President and Treasurer of EnerSys, a publicly-owned, global manufacturer of industrial batteries with revenue of $2 billion. He has been involved in many acquisitions, which ranged in size from $5 million to$400 million. Michael will be instrumental in capital structure, financing, working capital management, treasury operations, acquisitions and investor relations.

Michael has a Bachelor Degree in finance and accounting from Pace University, New York City.


Paul A. Gorman
President

Mr Gorman is a corporate specialist with over 15 years of experience in junior mining finance, taking companies public and operating growth-emerging public companies. For the last 12 years, Paul has been the President and Managing Partner of Riverbank Capital Inc., a Merchant Bank working with small-cap companies to assist them in financing, property exploration and developing well-defined marketing programs. Paul’s responsibilities have also included raising capital totaling in excess of $155 million as well as promoting the companies to the investment community and writing strategic plans for business growth. Paul is a director of several private and public companies, holding senior management positions with Canadian and US based organizations providing expertise in the areas of capital raising, corporate governance and strategic initiatives.





Paul K. Cooper, BESc., PEng., MBA
Chief Operating Officer

Mr Cooper brings 30 years of experience in operational and financial management in both the private and public sectors.Paul has senior leadership experience in industrial minerals and precious metals mining including the role of COO of Industrial Minerals Inc. Paul is also the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Trueclaim Exploration, a publicly traded company with properties in Northern Ontario and Arizona.

Paul has a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from The University of Western Ontario.In addition, Paul has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario.


Christopher S. Darby
Managing Director, Australia

Mr Darby brings significant experience in the management and delivery of large scale engineering, mining and construction projects. He has worked in Australia, Indonesia, China and Africa on projects and acquisitions ranging from $5M to $600M. Recognised for his commercial and proactive approach, Mr. Darby has worked in the resources sector on hard rock as well as onshore and offshore oil and gas projects. He is frequently invited to speak and present training on effective procurement, project delivery and construction models.

Christopher has Bachelors Degrees in Arts (International Politics & Anthropology) and Law as well as postgraduate qualifications from the University of Sydney, Graduate School of Business (GAICD) and from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), University of New South Wales (GDM(Exec).

Christopher S. Whiteley
Senior Vice President

Mr Whiteley has a comprehensive background in international & domestic sales and business development related directly to the carbon and graphite markets. Chris has over 15 years of international business development expertise with technical products for industrial, aerospace, military, and battery markets. Chris spent 7 years as a Sales Manager for North & South America for TIMCAL Graphite, where he cultivated key relationships with high-level companies across multiple industries and developed strategic partnerships, technical sales and support with NASA, US Navy, US Army and DOD contractors and suppliers. Chris implemented market initiatives for fuel cells, Li-Ion batteries and lubricants increasing global sales and growth plans.

Chris is a veteran of US Navy Submarine Service and has a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree from the University of Texas-Arlington and a MBA in International Business from the University of Houston Victoria, TX.


David J. Salari
Senior Project Manager

Mr. Salari is a metallurgical engineer with over 30 years' experience in the mining and metallurgical industry, across Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. David is currently the President and CEO of DENM Ltd., an engineering company that specializes in project and construction management and commissioning of small to medium scale mining projects, since its inception in 2004. David has substantial experience in the design, operation and supply of graphite processing equipment plants and recovery systems. David is a member of the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario and Nova Scotia and meets the requirements as a "QP" (qualified person) as set out in the National Instrument 43-101 based on education, experience, independence and affiliation with a professional association.


Victor S. Evele
Operations Manager, Australia

Victor brings with him a strong background in the mining and minerals processing industry. He has successfully delivered consistent profit improvements for operations across mining, engineering, mineral processing, quality assurance and business operations. In particular Victor possesses skills and experience in the design, construction, development and operation of sophisticated processing operations. These skills have been obtained in operations across a number of countries and regions and will be invaluable for project delivery in the Australian operations.

Victor has a bachelors degree in Science from the SA Institute of Technology and is undertaking his MBA through Charles Sturt University, Australia


A. John Carter
Vice President, Operations

Mr Carter has over 30 years experience in the mining industry. He is currently the President of MPE International Ltd., which specializes in the engineering, design, and manufacture of mineral processing equipment. John’s company was responsible for the equipment used by Trimcal Inc., currently the largest natural graphite mining company in North America. John is also the President and a Director of Trueclaim Exploration, a publicly traded company with properties in Northern Ontario and Arizona. John has extensive knowledge of mill development and mine in the natural graphite sector and, as such, brings significant value to MEGA Graphite.

John has a Bachelor degree in civil engineering from McMaster University.


W. Scott Old
Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Mr Old joined Mega Graphite in 2008 after many years of successful sales and marketing experience with a variety of firms including Industrial Minerals Inc. Scott is a highly motivated sales professional with over twenty successful years dealing with buyers from an array of industries from retail to manufacturing.

Scott’s ability to develop, maintain and retain clients in all industries is one of his greatest accomplishments. His solid communication and problem solving skills compliment his focus on attaining corporate and personal goals while ensuring customers' expectations are met and exceeded.


Laurie A. McCarney
Director, Corporate Communications

Mrs McCarney comes to MEGA Graphite with over 20 years of sales, marketing, public relations and senior leadership experience in a variety of businesses. Laurie's responsibilities have included strategic planning, sales manager, financial reporting, publishing, General Manager and President. With many years in corporate communication, Laurie leads MEGA's mandate to communicate effectively to all our customers, shareholders and stakeholders alike.

Laurie also manages the corporate website and all information dissemination within our group of companies.


Brian R. King, HBSc. P. Geo.
Senior Geologist

Mr King has 30 years of industry experience as a geologist in the areas of mineral exploration, mining, aggregate resource development, and environmental geology. Brian has considerable experience in the Grenville Series of Eastern Ontario, including carbonate hosted graphite deposits, precious metal and base metal occurrences.

Brian is a registered Qualified Person and Professional Geoscientist in Ontario, and is a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists. In addition, Brian holds an Honours BSc degree in Geology.


Peter W. Smith
Leader, Business Development

Mr Smith comes to MEGA Graphite with over 20 years of success in a variety of sales roles. Peter’s most recent position was operating his own consulting firm specializing in the transportation industry.

He has developed a strong reputation for building trust with Mega Graphite’s global customers. Peter will focus on customers’ needs and bridging those requirements with MEGA Graphite’s products.
